Purpose The Showroom Design Team is responsible for customer interaction and a positive customer experience, helping clients with design concepts and solutions, providing pricing and estimates for jobs, and maintaining a clean and orderly showroom.
The showroom designer will also be expected to learn product knowledge and develop vendor relationships to help TMVB bring the most value to our customers.
Product needs include kitchen, bath, and bar backsplashes, entire bathrooms, focal walls, flooring, exterior hard surfaces and decking, artistic projects and more! Minimum Eligibility Requirements Must be open-minded and positive Remodel design experience (any facet) preferred but not required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company Retail experience required Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus Excellent customer service skills Proficient in basic mathematical skills Must be self-motivated, self-sufficient and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, this is a small business and we need these qualities to succeed ! Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner with minimal supervision Willing to work retail hours Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite, Quickbooks experience is a plus Perform other duties as necessary Essential Job Functions Be comfortable working with high end clients and brainstorming designs Maintain a clean and professional image (business casual) Greet every customer in a warm and courteous manner Seeks new customers and supports store walk-in needs Develops relationships with vendors, Trade professionals, clients and reps Calculates and provides estimates for clients Supports sales process of tile, glass, stone, and accessory products to realize designs Learns product knowledge Open to constructive feedback Maintains an orderly, clean showroom atmosphere Be open to learning, we will train for all of these aspects if needed Working Conditions (travel, environment) Limited travel required including car travel (client in-home appointments for measurements and design consultation) Potential Limited exposure to warehouse operations, including inspecting and labeling product, moving pallets, breaking down boxes, etc.
Potential occasional travel for trade shows and promotions Physical/Sensory Requirements Medium Work - Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
The employee is often required to use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel.
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, particularly when bringing product boards down from the wall racks.
